Primi has launched a new menu in all their outlets which includes a Spuntini section, referring to the communal dining style beloved of the Italians. This Tapas style has become quite popular. Great snack foods will tide you over until dinner, a quick bite between meetings, or something to munch on while you are watching the rugby. The array is superb; order a variety of flavourful dishes, share, dip and mix.
The new menu in the halaal stores only launches in January and last week we got to preview some of the dishes at Primi Xpress in Rosmead. Along with several other bloggers and we got to try a range of interesting bite size snack food, perfect for starters or light meals.
This Chicken Kebab with piquante pepperdews was super tasty. Also on the plate is Avocado Crostini with fresh avocado, tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, red peppers, lemon and mint. The Caprese Flatbread spread with Pesto and topped with fresh tomatoes and Fior di Latte, drizzled with basil oil is a good vegetarian option.
I loved the zuchini fries on this platter. Also shown is Italian meatballs, Sicilian-style olives in olive oil,
lemon juice, rosemary, oregano, red chilli and garlic which was so yummy and these chilli poppers, with pepperdews and herbed feta instead of actual chilli were great for the milder palate.
We also got to try some smokey barbeque ribs served with chips. Minimal fat and tasty without being too sweet.
The crew of bloggers for the night had a great time and enjoyed some guitar strings and vocals from the talented Ashur Peterson, son of Taliep Peterson.
The new menu launches in January 2017. Look out for it at Primi Xpress Rosmead and other halaal branches.
