With effect from 1st September 2019, a selected number of BURGER KING® restaurants will no longer be Halaal-certified. The change in status, is a result of these BURGER KING® restaurants now offering a burger with bacon.

The decision was driven by the opportunity for BURGER KING® South Africa to serve the consumer demand for non-Halaal products. They have only converted restaurants in areas, where a Halaal restaurant is already located nearby, to as far as possible, conveniently serve both consumers.
