Load shedding has become a reality in South Africa over the last few months. It’s the most sinking feeling when you’re going to escape from the blackout at home by grabbing your laptop and parking at your favourite coffee shop only to discover they can’t serve you either. We did some checking on who is trading as normal to save you the buzzkill. Here’s a list of halaal spots that are able to trade as normal or semi-normal.

Jasmine Fusion, Sandton
Kahawa Caffé, Sandton – Able to trade during load shedding at a reduced level. During the scheduled downtime they are able to provide more than 75% of the menu. Excluded from this are their pizza bagels, snacks & sides, cappuccinos and smoothies.
Clenergy, Emmarentia – Only change is that during load shedding they can serve you coffee in the old school way.
