
Banana fritters are one of those things I can never do as well as my mom. A comforting food that symbolizes the comfort she brings to my heart. There is very little that a mothers love, words or intervention cannot resolve.
Here’s to all our wonderful mothers. May we always find Jannat at your feet.
As one of those Ramadaan favourites, it really only comes up on my menu around this time of year. I’m sharing an easy recipe below. Let me know what you think and if you have other interesting ways of making it.
Banana Fritters

Ingredients
1 cup Self Raising flour
1 tsp Baking powder
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp sugar
pinch of ground elachi (cardamom)
2 bananas cut lengthways and then into thirds.
Beat eggs and milk. Add dry ingredients and stir together. You will have a thick batter. Dip your pieces of banana into the batter and drop into a saucepan of hot oil. Turn the heat down to medium so they don’t fry too fast. Fry till golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper and roll into cinnamon sugar while still hot.
