South Africa has moved back to level 3 lockdown regulations since last week. In just one week numbers have risen dramatically and we would all be safer keeping any gatherings to a minimum. These are the current restrictions as far we need to adhere to in terms of travel, eating out and events.
The new restrictions include a stricter curfew from 22h00 until 04h00. As a result, establishments such as restaurants and bars will need close at 21h00 to allow their staff to get home in time. On-site alcohol consumption may continue until 21h00, subject to liquor licenses.
All gatherings, including conferences, will be limited to 50 people indoors and 100 people outdoors. Where the venue is too small to accommodate appropriate social distancing, 50% of the floor space may be used.
The new curfew will not affect travel to and from the airport. People who arrive on a flight and are travelling to or from an airport, will be allowed to do so during the restricted hours. They will however need to carry a valid boarding pass or a copy of the flight ticket.
