Where to take the Boss for Boss’s Day

What’s your boss’s spirit animal? Is he a posh boss, somewhat laid back or is he everyone’s buddy. Whatever the type, here’s some places you can take him or her this National Boss’s Day – 15 October 2021. Show your appreciation while scoring some serious brownie points.

For the Posh Boss

126 Cape Kitchen and Cafe, Cape Town CBD
This elegant restaurant located in the Hyatt Regency hotel in the CBD is a great spot to impress the boss. Great for a stylish breakfast and to truly impress, take them for lunch. Be warned, it’s a bit of a pocket squeezer.

Le Kreamery, Lakefield or Eldo Glen, Johannesburg
If he likes the sweeter things in life and great presentation, then Le Kreamery is where you will find beautiful entremets and all things decadent.

Antique Cafe, Morningside Durban
Journey to the leafy suburb of Windermere to the picturesque Antique Café. It is a period-style maze of dining rooms and display rooms selling antique furniture, clothes and other items. The back leads to a garden with an eclectic mix of rustic tables and chairs under a canopy of trees. It is really pretty and serene.

For the Laid Back Boss

Bo Kaap Deli, Cape Town CBD
A relaxed and eclectic space in the Bo Kaap. With the cobbled streets outside and the hum of the Cape Town vibe passing by you can take them away from the office in body and mind.

Mugg & Bean, Cape Town, Kenilworth Centre
The popular coffee franchise has finally opened a fully halaal branch. If the boss is serious about coffee this is where you need to be. That and great breakfast of course.

The Empire Steak
Florida road is known for great halaal food spots and the Empire Steak has been taking it by storm. It’s a laid back family restaurant where you can just chill and enjoy a great steak.

For the Boss who’s also your Buddy

Woodies, Claremont, Cape Town
What’s better than sharing one of the best burgers in town. Escape for lunch along with the rest of the office and show him where to get the infamous Woodies burger and experience it for himself.

Rocomamas, Johannesburg, Melrose Arch
Take them to this buzzing spot at Melrose Arch for a burger experience. Struggling to get a booking? No worries. They do breakfast too. Treat them to a milkshake that will blow their mind and they’ll be singing your praises around increase time.

PoBoys, Durban
A happening stop for New Orleans Sandwiches in Durban. There’s a branch in Cowey Road and one in Umhlanga.

NB. Boss’s Day 2021 falls, annually, on October 16. If it falls on a weekend, then it is celebrated on the working day closest to it.
