Makers Landing is one of the latest foodie destinations in Cape Town. It was established as a business incubator for small businesses in the food sector. They have already graduated one group of incubatees and have taken on the second group. What’s great is that so far there has always been a number of halaal businesses that has formed part of the intake and some of them have become actual vendors at Makers Landing. Here’s our list of fully halaal vendors next time you’re touristing at the V&A Waterfront.
Conscious Meat Merchants
This newly opened eatery at the V&A Waterfront specialises in Wagyu Burgers and all things steak. They started out as Conscious Carnivores, a weekend pop-up and have now partnered with Frankie Fenner to form Conscious Meat Merchants. You can buy your special cuts at their venue at Makers Landing or enjoy their menu on-site at the eatery.

Fuzzy’s Foods
After COVID capped the travel industry in March 2020, Faieez Alexander “Fuzzy” decided to start a business selling koesisters to support his family. On a whim, he entered Vannie Kaap and KFM Radio’s koesister competition and was crowned the World Koesister Champion! Fuzzy hasn’t looked back since. He has a stand at Makers Landing, where he aims to expose the world to the sweet and spiced Cape Malay koesister, and eventually sell his finished and frozen product into retail and food service.

Hi there, lived the article and so proud to see my fellow tenants featured.
They are amazing businesses and it feels so good to have our food represented in a place like the V&A.
I’m Michele, the owner of INDIKAAP Vegan Ayurveda at Maker’s Landing, also Halaal.
