International Waffle Day on March 25 is definitely the kind of foodie day we can get behind. Most prominently celebrated in Sweden this date used to be all about the Feast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin, but today it’s mostly about waffles.
Swedish waffles are flatter than the more well-known Belgian waffle and are normally made in a special waffle maker which makes the waffles heart-shaped. In South Africa Belgian waffles are definitely the go-to. Here are 10 great halaal spots to enjoy your fix this International Waffle Day.
