5 Refreshing Milkshake recipes to enjoy this Ramadaan

From Ramadaan staples like falooda to a simple chocolate milk, a refreshing milkshake never fails to hit the right spot after a day of fasting.

Avo Shake

3 medium-sized avos
1L Milk
1/4 tin Condensed Milk (adjust according to taste)
3 Curry Spoons Vanilla Ice Cream

Peel and cube avo. Add to the blender with milk, condensed milk and ice cream. Blend well till smooth. If too thick add more milk. Enjoy straight away as this does not store well.

Coffee Milkshake

1L Milk
4 to 5 Heaped Tablespoons Nescafe
1/2 Cup Boiling Water
1 Curry Spoon Sugar (adjust sugar according to taste)
4 – 5 Curry Spoons Vanilla Ice Cream (We prefer a creamier shake. You can reduce to 3 curry spoons)

Dissolve coffee in boiling water (it will look syrupy). In a blender add milk, sugar, ice cream and dissolved coffee. Blend well and serve chilled.

Peanut Butter, Banana and Date Shake

3 Tblsp Smooth Peanut Butter
3 Medjool Dates
2 cups Milk
2 cups Vanilla Ice Cream
4 – 6 Ice Cubes

Blend peanut butter and milk together. Add ice cream and ice cubes and blend till smooth and frothy

Rose Dolgana

Recipe adapted from @tableforfivedubai

1 cup chilled milk –
4-6 tsp Rose Syrup
1 cup cream
Sprinkle of ground cardamom
Grated China Grass (colour it pink)
Sprinkle of Pistachio
1tsp soaked falooda seeds

Add milk to a your glass. In a bowl, beat the cream with the rose syrup. Spoon cream over the milk. Add a little of the falooda seeds and china grass on top of the cream. Sprinkle the ground cardamom and pistachio on top.

And the Classic…

Falooda

1 litre milk
1/4 cup Rose Syrup (more or less depending on the strength of your syrup)
2 Tbsp sugar
4 Tbsp Vanilla ice cream
1/4 tsp elachi (cardamom) powder (optional)
1 tsp soaked Sabja/falooda seeds
Grated pink china crass or jelly
Slivered almonds

Combine milk, sugar, rose syrup, elachi powder and ice cream with a whisk or in a blender. Add all other ingredients and serve chilled with extra ice cream on top.
