This is an easy South African marinade recipe for lamb chops. I consider this my heritage braai recipe because I’ve been making it this way since my teens using typically South African ingredients 🔥
If you’re not in SA then Mrs Balls Chutney can be substituted with a sweet and jammy dried fruit chutney.
I get my chops cut on the thin side and for about 1kg of chops you will need:
Ingredients:
3 Tbsp of good quality bbq spice
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp salt
1 Tbsp Garlic & Ginger paste
5 Tbsp Mrs Balls Chutney Hot
3 Tbsp Tomato sauce
3 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
juice of half a lemon
Method:
Mix it all onto your meat and coat well. Taste the marinade and adjust according to your preference for sweet and heat. Leave to marinate a few hours. Braai over hot coals. It will go fairly quickly as the meat is thin cuts.
