Visit the New Speciality Deli and Eatery at Conscious Carnivores, Makers Landing

Makers Landing at the V&A Waterfront is a somewhat undersold foodies haven. Having started out as an incubator for small food businesses they are now also home to a commercial kitchen available for rent as well as a range of delicious eateries you might otherwise miss at the V&A.

Home to Beluga, Fuzzy’s Koeksisters, the Bread Bar and Conscious Carnivores, it is a destination you have to add to your holiday itinerary.

Conscious Carnivores in particular is a fully halaal eatery and has long been a favourite amongst Muslim and non-Muslim foodies alike. From humble beginnings selling their burgers from home to a gorgeous upmarket artisanal eatery at Makers Landing, they have certainly made a mark.

They are known for quality meat, being certified by Wagyu South Africa. Their steaks are butchered on site, and include dry-aged beef and certified wagyu.

Newly added to their store is a deli where you can find authenticly made halaal charcuterie like white mould salami, chorizo, cured Macon, Bresaola, Sujuk amongst others. Their biltong has no preservatives and is made the age old traditional way.

They also stock seasonal speciality fresh fruit and vegetables sourced by one of their owners who also owns the biggest wholesale fruit and veg supplier in the country.

Need a gift or just want something fresh and pretty? Stock up on their specialised flowers they have on offer. And look out for exciting new trends like their viral Chocolate Strawberries and Karak ice cream with more ideas in the pipeline.

Conscious Carnivores are open 7 days a week.
