Creamed Sweetcorn is one of those staple braai side dishes. This version has become one of our favourites. The contrast of sweet corn and spicy green chillies makes this dish a real flavour burst. Now add to that some mustard seeds and onion and you have taken the humble tin of sweetcorn to another level. Spicy Cream-style Sweetcorn
Ingredients
1 tin Cream Style Sweetcorn
1/2 medium onion chopped
1/2 tsp brown mustard seeds
1 clove garlic minced
1/2 tsp green chutney
1 green chilli chopped
handful of chopped dhanya (coriander)
Method
Heat 2 Tbsp oil on medium heat and add the mustard seeds. When they start to pop add the onions and saute till soft. Then add the garlic and green chutney and braise a minute till fragrant. Add the sweetcorn and additional chilli and chopped coriander. Heat through and serve.
