There’s no better time than summer to pay a visit to Bootlegger Coffee Company’s Rosmead Avenue branch. Nestled in Kenilworth, this spot has become a favourite for locals — and with their latest seasonal menu launch, it’s shaping up to be a must-visit for anyone after good food, great coffee, and a relaxed vibe.
Bootlegger Rosmead Avenue opens early, every day. For early risers or weekend brunch-seekers, they open at 6:30 AM (Sunday from 7:00 AM) and stay open until about 5:30 PM. Make sure you don’t miss their morning special of a coffee for just R29 everyday before 8am!
With free WiFi, it has seating that suits solo work or group meals, and provides a friendly, relaxed vibe — ideal whether you want to study, catch up with friends, or chill with coffee.
This branch is fully Halaal certified making it inclusive and accessible to the Muslim community in the Southern Suburbs.

New Summer Menu — What’s Fresh, Seasonal & Fun
This summer, Bootlegger is doubling down on creativity and flavour. The new menu is built around fresh, local-ingredient dishes designed to be enjoyed together — ideal for sharing with friends or mixing and matching for a full meal. Some of the standout newcomers:
- Pastei de Nata — warm, freshly baked Portuguese custard tarts. A sweet treat that pairs beautifully with a morning or afternoon coffee.
- Loaded Fries — think hand-cut chips topped with cheese sauce, coffee-basted BBQ chicken, jalapeños and extra cheese. Comfort food with a twist.
- Roast Butternut Salad — a vibrant, seasonal salad combining roasted butternut, rosemary-roasted cherry tomatoes, avocado, goat’s cheese, lettuce and finished with a three-mustard mayo dressing. A great option if you want something lighter but still flavourful.
- Brownie Bombs with Vanilla Ice Cream — deep-fried brownie bites served with vanilla ice cream. A decadent dessert that’s perfect to share.
- Refreshing Coolers — new seasonal drinks like a Pear Blossom Cooler and a Ruby Guava Cooler. Light, fruity and ideal for summer.

These dishes — from indulgent fries and desserts to fresh salads and drinks — showcase Bootlegger’s commitment to variety and refusal to stick to a one-tone menu.
If you find yourself near Claremont or Kenilworth, or simply want a reliable café with good coffee and a menu that keeps things interesting, give Rosmead Bootlegger a try. And if you do go: grab a cooler, try the butternut salad, maybe split the loaded fries, and don’t skip dessert.
P.s. Don’t miss their HALF PRICE BURGERS Special.
