The most instagrammeable, pinkest of pink cafe’s has launched in Johannesburg South Africa. It’s gorgeously over the top and you’ll want to take pictures of it all.

Pretty in pink, Élan has several posh locations all over the world. Having opened their first store in London, they now have 11 stores in cities like, Milan, Paris, Dubai, Riyadh and now Johannesburg

EL&N (Elan) stands for Eat, Love & Nourish. This super-cute café serves all-day brunch, lunch, cake and coffee. We attended the Press Preview this week and got to hob-nob with the who’s who of Joburg foodies and social media influencers.

On the menu was hand-made pizza. Neapolitan style, a simple tomato base with Burata, the pizza was superb with a crisp delicious crust. The french toast is thickly sliced, we indulged in the Maple syrup with fresh berries as well as the Nutella. Both were generous portions and you can’t really go wrong with Nutella anything… We have yet to try the cakes, but this will be something for a future visit.

The welcome drinks were delicious and tasted of passionfruit and rose. We also had a Butterfly Pea Flower Mocktail which changes colour as you pour the 2 liquids into it. Loved the flavour especially because it wasn’t overly sweet.

The coffee menu is reasonably priced and mostly on par with other local coffee shops. Expect to pay a premium for the rest of the menu.

Elan Cafe is going to be the place to be seen this summer. It’s a selfie heaven designed with loads of photogenic backdrops, and even the kids are going to love to the OTT shakes and cakes. Make sure you go with your sweet tooth activated, a loaded credit card and plenty of space on your mobile for photos.
