We were invited to experience the new Aparthotel concept at Hyatt House, Sandton. It’s a first for SA and it’s halaal to boot!

We enjoyed a one night stay and experienced the facilities which include a swimming pool, a gym and the H-Mart. A convenient cafe where you can shop snacks and drinks and get your @starbucks_sa fix onsite.

The hotel is Muslim owned and The Medley restaurant is fully halaal. A generous buffet breakfast is included in all stays. It’s also open for visitors to just come to the restaurant for breakfast, lunch or supper.
Rooms are set up for self-catering so are fully equipped with all amenities, even a dishwasher and @nespresso.za machine. Yay for good coffee! It’s a great base to use for a Jozi holiday or to stay for work purposes. They even have a business centre and meeting rooms you can book.

Dinner at The Medley restaurant was a perfectly done steak with Lemon Mayo and a Jus dipping sauce for him, deliciously tender Norwegian salmon with a lemon beurre blanc for me, and Taufeeq chose chicken strips from the kids menu.

Rates are more reasonable than you would think at approx R1500 per room and up. And they are running a launch rate from R900!

Please note: Hungry for Halaal is not a certification body. We do our best to verify that an establishment is Halaal Certified or Muslim owned but we cannot guarantee information that is supplied to us.
