There’s a new Wood fire pizza place on the block. La inferno launched their second store, now in the south this weekend. Upstairs at the Woolies in Kromboom road you’ll find a touch of pizza heaven.
They have sit-down, take away and delivery options. Open plan set up so you can see your pizzas being made and going into the fiery oven.
The owner asked what our taste preferences are and gave us recommendations on what we’d enjoy most. I love spicy-hot food so went for the La Focaccia with a hint of fresh chilli and a penne La Alfredo with chicken. The star of the show was the La Inferno which is a signature dish on the menu made up of spicy prawns, spicy sauce and mozzarella. I find people often get thin based pizza so wrong but this place has it nailed.
We then had a cup of Ginseng coffee imported from Italy which was a really refreshing end to our meal. Service was so friendly and the space has plugs conveniently located so you could sit and work while grabbing lunch.
There is another branch in Plattekloof for the people of the North.
Looking forward to going back and trying the rest of the menu.
I stopped by La Inferno’s Pizzeria (Platerkloof branch) expecting to get the same old thing every other pizza place offers, but what I got was an absolute gem of an experience! The service was exceptional, the staff were warm, attentive, and made spot-on recommendations. The pizza? Hands down some of the best I’ve ever had. The crust was perfectly crispy yet chewy, topped with fresh ingredients and a sauce that popped with flavour. What truly set this place apart was the owner, who took time to chat with us, sharing stories about the place and how they started, and making us feel like family. I left with a smile and a new favorite spot. Highly recommend.
