Nouveau Coffee & Grill have launched a beautiful new branch in the heart of Cape Town on Long Street. It’s a slightly more casual version of their upmarket location in Century City.

We tried them out on a week night in December. They were quite busy and I suggest booking ahead in the evenings. The restaurant is cosy with about 8 tables downstairs and a mezzanine with another 6 tables or so. The high ceiling gives it a feeling of space but combined with the open plan visible kitchen it does become noisy because of the acoustics. This is a nice spot for lunch meetings in the city and casual dinners with friends.

Hubby loved the Hangover burger with 2 patties, mozzarella, jalapeno and onions. Burgers are only available at the Long Street branch. My prawn pasta with garlic and lemon and was flavourful and light. Not a typical heavy cream sauce. We shared a good brownie and ice cream followed by the cutest flat white. Check out the image gallery 😀

They are also introducing an exciting cheese wheel pasta and cheese injection burgers. Speak to them about functions, group bookings and buffets for your events.

  • What a disappointing experience! Although website states reservations are required, what happens if you just happen to walk in? Ill tell you what. You get treated like a leper. We asked if they had a table for us and basically the answer was no if no reservation was made as we were told MOST of the tables were reserved but couldnt point out which ones werent. We told you can have a table but you need to leave within in an hour of being seated or you can sit outside. The two men that were there were exceptionally rude and arrogant.Such a pity for such a beautiful establishment.Very Disappointing.
